Who is KPK?

Kristin Pickar-Knussmann founded KPK Lighting Design in 2017 after 14 years in Architectural Lighting Design.  In owning her own studio she has the pleasure of working with good people on projects she is passionate about.  The success of her projects are a result of focusing on details that make the big picture special and unique. 

Collaborating with Architects, Interior Designers, Landscape Architects and Owners is key to the success of her designs. This team effort results in true integration of lighting into the space, allowing the architecture itself to be the statement piece and the decorative lighting to be the jewelry on top.

After graduating Cum Laude from Texas A&M with a degree in Environmental Design, Kristin found herself in Los Angeles designing some of the world's largest, most luxurious and influential hotels, restaurants, retail and event centers, theme parks, and corporate projects. 

Over 20 years later and KPK Lighting Design is bringing that award winning knowledge to Houston and beyond. Kristin is a member of the International Association of Lighting Designers, Illuminating Engineering Society and is LEED AP accredited.
